(5)Flatness
When the blanket with uneven thickness is printed, the partial pressure is not uniform, and the printed ink color is not uniform.
If the thickness error of the blanket exceeds 0.04mm, the unevenness of the ink color is more obvious.
(6)Surface smoothness and capillary structure
The surface of the blanket should be smooth, its printed mesh point can have a clear outline, but the surface of the blanket
too smooth, its adhesion ink performance is poor, ink transfer will be difficult, when the surface of the blanket is too smooth,
it is very easy to adsorb impurities such as paper wool. Therefore, the surface of the offset blanket has been properly roughened,
so that its surface is evenly distributed with countless fine capillary structure. When the blanket becomes smooth and glows
after a long time, use the blanket cleaner to wash away the shiny film.
(7)Stripping performance
Stripping performance refers to the ease with which the blanket can release the paper after leaving the imprint contact area.
Poor stripping performance can cause many printing problems, including dot deformation, blanket ink piling, excessive paper
bending and uneven printed field etc.
Blanket is only one of several factors affecting paper stripping. Printer speed, ink viscosity, printing pressure and paper surface
also affect paper stripping. The increasing use of lightweight paper, faster printing speed and more sticky inks have made the
paper stripping performance requirements of the blanket more important and more demanding.
(8)Hardness
The hardness of the blanket refers to the ability of the rubber to resist external pressure, generally measured by the Shore
hardness value. The hardness of the blanket is about 50-80 Shore degree. The dot of the hardened rubber blanket
is bright and clear, which is suitable for high-precision printing presses, it prints the mesh image on the smooth
paper.But the wear on the printing plate is large, which is not conducive to the printing durability of the printing plate.
A soft blanket is suitable for machines with poor precision, printing general products on paper with rough surface,
but the printed dots are easily deformed.
